Reliance Jio has followed Airtel V-Fiber into Mumbai with its very own broadband Internet service at the same speed as that offered by the latter. The Mukesh Ambani-led company’s fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) facility reportedly delivers up to 100Mbps in download speeds to users, and is currently being tested in several residential areas of South Mumbai.
And just like Airtel, Jio’s FTTH service will also be free for the first three months of use. The former charges an initial amount of Rs 1000 for the modem which is needed to hook up its existing broadband customers to the next generation network. After that, schemes start at Rs 899 a month. A 200GB plan at 40Mbps at comes for Rs 2599 per month.
